Annual Holidays

Under provisions of Section 25 of the West Pakistan Civil Courts Ordinance, 1962, the Hon'ble Chief Justice and Judges have been pleased to approve the following annual list of General Holidays to be observed by the Lahore High Court (Principal Seat & its Benches at Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi) and Civil & Sessions Courts in the Punjab during the Calendar year 2026:-

(i) For Hon'ble Judges of Lahore High Court, only Friday to Friday 25th December, 2026 to 8th January, 2027 15
(ii) For High Court, Civil and Sessions Courts in the Punjab. Friday to Friday 25th December, 2026 to 1st January, 2027 8
Notes:
  • The Holidays marked with an asterisk (*) are subject to appearance of the moon. In case the event falls on a day other than that notified, specific instructions will be issued by the Lahore High Court and timely notice shall, when possible, be given to litigants if the event does not fall on the day already notified.
  • The Civil and Sessions Courts in the Punjab shall observe Winter Holidays from 25th December (Friday), 2026 to 1st January (Friday), 2027.
  • The Lahore High Court shall observe Winter Holidays from 25th December (Friday), 2026 to 8th January (Friday), 2027 for the Hon'ble Judges of Lahore High Court and from 25th December (Friday), 2026 to 1st January (Friday), 2027 for staff of Lahore High Court.
  • Every Sunday in a week is a holiday.
  • The long vacation for the Lahore High Court shall be from 6th July (Monday) to 5th September (Saturday), 2026.
  • The Summer Vacation for the Civil Courts in the Punjab shall be from 1st August to 31st August, 2026 except Murree and Kotli Sattian Sub-Divisions, District Rawalpindi where the said vacation shall be observed during the month of January. However, Special Casual Leave will be observed by the Sessions Courts in the Punjab as per Notification issued by this Court.
